Preparing for Adulthood is an important part of the learner experience at Fir Tree College. It aims to support young people to develop confidence and independence for the future.
Learners have opportunities to develop skills linked to independent living, employment, community inclusion and good health. This can take place through learning in college and experiences within the local community.
With guidance and support from Fir Tree College staff, a range of learning and real-life experiences can help learners develop practical skills, social interaction and confidence.
Preparing for Adulthood will look different for each learner, with opportunities and support considered in relation to individual needs, abilities and aspirations. Our aim is to help young people take steps towards greater independence and their chosen future.
