Fir Tree College places great importance on regular and punctual attendance. Attending consistently is vital for learning, progress, and developing independence.

We work closely with learners and their families to identify and remove any barriers to good attendance. To ensure records are accurate, all absences must be reported directly to the college office using the following method:

• Call 01257 251502.
• When leaving a message, please provide the learner’s full name, group, and the specific reason for absence.
• Absences should be reported each day until the learner returns.
• Wherever possible, absences should be reported before 9:00am. If no contact is made, the college will follow up with a phone call.

Fir Tree College is committed to supporting learners and families who experience difficulties with attendance. If attendance falls to a level that gives cause for concern, the pastoral team will contact parents/carers to discuss the situation and explore what support can be offered.

Please note: certain absences may be recorded as unauthorised unless there are exceptional circumstances agreed with the Head of College.
