Our Curriculum

To Educate

We provide a broad and balanced mix of academic and vocational learning designed to build knowledge, practical skills, and confidence. Learners are encouraged to explore a range of subjects that reflect their interests and aspirations.

To Support

We place a strong emphasis on personal development, with tailored interventions and additional support where it is needed. This is particularly important for learners aged 16 to 24 with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Our inclusive approach aims to create a supportive environment in which every learner can engage and progress.

To Prepare

Our curriculum is designed to help learners take their next steps, whether moving into further study, exploring employment options, joining supported internships, or developing greater independence.

Work Experience

Work experience is an important part of the curriculum. Learners typically attend placements for two days per week in a variety of employment sectors, including horticulture, retail, cafés, stables, floristry, vehicle valeting, and other vocational settings.
Placements are arranged with consideration for learners’ interests, abilities, and goals, giving them opportunities to gain hands-on experience in real-world environments. Learners are also welcome to source their own placements, if they wish, provided these are appropriate and meet the aims of the programme.

This practical element helps develop key skills such as communication, teamwork, timekeeping, and problem-solving, while also supporting confidence and independence. English and Maths are woven into these experiences. Employers and support staff provide feedback, which is used to track progress and guide next steps

Curriculum Delivery

Our timetable follows a ‘one day in, one day out’ model, alternating between classroom learning and work experience. This approach allows learners to immediately apply the knowledge and skills they gain in lessons to real-world settings, reinforcing their understanding and building confidence. The balance between structured study and practical experience helps keep learning purposeful, engaging, and closely connected to each learner’s future goals.
